University Of Calabar Has Been Shut Down Following The Protest By Students

The management of University of Calabar, has shut down the institution for two weeks, following yesterday's morning protest by students of the University. 

The students in their thousands, armed with placards, paralyzed activities at the institution in protest over unavailability of water, electricity and increase in school fee and other charges.

Senator Gil Nnaji Loses Seat In Enugu

Today, National Assembly Election Tribunal led by Justice M.O Adewara in Enugu State nullified the election of Gilbert Nnaji of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Mr. Nnaji was elected in April to represent Enugu East senatorial district. In a ruling in favor of a former Governor of the state, Chimaroke Nnamani of the Peoples Democratic Change (PDC) Justice Adewara nullified Nnaji election.After the hotly contested election, Mr. Nnaji scored 69,544 votes against Nnamani’s 57,528 to win the contest.

Just Happened! Could It Be Boko Haram? - Explosion Rocks Beer Parlor In Lagos State

An explosion has hit a beer parlor in the Mayaki-Oworonshoki area of Lagos on Sunday. According to the National Emergency Management Agency, five persons, including a baby, were injured in the blast.

However, there was pandemonium in Lagos as some residents of the area claimed that the explosion killed some people and injured others. All injured persons were said to have been taken nearby Afolabi hospital.
